1.Reggae Geel

Over the years, Reggae Geel has evolved from the open-air party of the late 1970s to a full production event with live band performers from around the world. Originally the event welcome Dutch and Belgian artists and ultimately included many other artists such as Jamaican reggae bands. With a ‘Dancehall Night’ on the Friday evening, the ‘Catch a Mic’ content, as well as the ‘Skaville Circus’, there is plenty to do on the grounds of the Reggae Geel festival for newcomers and veteran attendees alike.

5. Ostróda Reggae Festival

This is the largest festival in Poland. Beginning in 1983, this festival overcame various setbacks in the late 1980s as well as in the 1990s. In 2001, the event has seen successful annual stagings. The festival includes a competition of young bands as well as three stages: Stage Red, Green and Yellow SoundSystem Stage Stage.

6.Sardinia Reggae Festival

7. Overjam

Since 2012 this summer music festival has been delivering reggae, dub, and dancehall music to a varied mix fans at Sotočje. This 4-day event happens annually at a peninsula between two mountain rivers in Tolmin. Prior to 2012, the predecessor event, Soča Reggae Riversplash was held annually since 2000. You can experience regional and international music artists at this festival!

8. Rototom Sunsplash

11. Notting Hill Carnival

From its humble beginning as a BBC broadcasted indoor ‘Caribbean Carnival’ at St Pancras Town Hall back in 1959 this event has grown into
Notting Hill Carnival makes this list because of its inclusive nature of all Caribbean music not just Soca the main musical genre in many carnivals through the Caribbean but also its very strong influence of the Jamaican dancehall sessions and heavy usage of the sound system culture throughout the event.

Notting Hill Carnival is now considered to be one of the largest attended festivals in the world.
